The Sudanese Canadian Community Association (SCCA) has been following with grave concern the horrific violations committed by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against civilians in the cities of El Fasher. Bara, and North Kordofan area. We are horrified by the systematic killings, summary executions, the killing of those attempting to flee, the looting of property, and the burning of homes and camps. The complete communications blackout is further isolating the population and hindering the documentation of these crimes and holding perpetrators accountable.
The SCCA condemns these violations in the strongest possible terms and holds the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fully responsible for the safety of civilians in areas under their control. SCCA warns that the conflict is likely to spread to other areas in Sudan, which will inevitably lead to a higher number of victims and displaced people, and more human rights violations.
The SCCA calls on the Canadian government and United Nations agencies to take active and effective measures to end the suffering of unarmed civilians and stop these horrific human rights violations. This requires continuous and effective pressure on all actors in the conflict, including regional states.
We also call on the Canadian government to implement our previous appeals for effective actions to ending the suffering of civilians in Sudan, which include:
- Appointment of a Special Envoy for Sudan to drive diplomatic engagement, coordinate with international partners, and to engage with the Sudanese Canadian community to push for an end to the war.
- Expansion of the existing sanctions regime to target more individuals and businesses of armed groups that are perpetuating the war.
- Enhancement of the humanitarian response Scale up Canada’s humanitarian commitments to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the war.
- Improvement and resolution of issues related to special immigration programs for relatives of Sudanese Canadians affected by the war in Sudan.
The SCCA stands with the people of El Fasher and with all victims across Sudan. We will continue to work with our legal and political partners to advocate human rights of our families in Sudan and demand all responsible parties are brought to justice
نداء عاجل للتدخل لإيقاف الانتهاكات وجرائم الحرب في الفاشر وشمال كردفان
تابع اتحاد الجاليات السودانية بكندا بقلقٍ بالغ ما تشهده مدينتي الفاشر وبارا ومناطق شمال كردفان من انتهاكات مروعة ضد المدنيين وعمليات قتل ممنهجة وإعدامات ميدانية وقتل للهاربين ونهب للممتلكات وحرق للمنازل والمخيمات إلى جانب انقطاعٍ كاملٍ في الاتصالات مما يُفاقم عزلة الأهالي ويحول دون توثيق الجرائم ومحاسبة مرتكبيها.
يدين اتحاد الجاليات السودانية بكندا بأشدّ العبارات ما يجري من انتهاكات ويحمل قوات الدعم السريع المسؤولية الكاملة عن سلامة المدنيين في المناطق الخاضعة لسيطرتها. وينبه اتحاد الجاليات ان الصراع بشكله الحالي، مرشح بقوة للامتداد لمناطق أخرى بالسودان، مما سيؤدى حتما لازدياد اعداد الضحايا والنازحين، وحجم انتهاكات حقوق الانسان
إن اتحاد الجاليات السودانية الكندية، يطالب الحكومة الكندية ومنظمات الأمم المتحدة ان تعمل بشكل فاعل على انهاء معاناة المدنيين العزل وإيقاف الانتهاكات المروعة لحقوق الانسان وذلك عن طريق الضغط المستمر والفعال على كل الأطراف الفاعلة في الصراع للوصول بما في ذلك من دول إقليمية.
كما نطالب الحكومة الكندية بتنفيذ مناشداتنا السابقة للإسهام الفعال في انهاء معاناة المدنيين في السودان والمتمثلة في
أولاً: تعيين مبعوث خاص للسودان للدفع باتجاه إنهاء الحرب وقيادةَ التفاعل الدبلوماسي الكندي والتنسيق مع الشركاء الدوليين المعنيين بالسودان ومع المجتمع السوداني الكندي
ثانياً: توسيع وتعزيز نظام العقوبات الحالي لاستهداف المزيد من الأشخاص والاعمال والشبكات التجارية والمالية للجماعات المسلحة التي تُديم الحرب
ثالثاً: تعزيز الاستجابة للاحتياجات الإنسانية والوفاء بالالتزامات الإنسانية لرفع المعاناة عن المتأثرين بالحرب
رابعاً: الاستمرار وتحسين برامج الهجرة الخاصة بأقارب السودانيين الكنديين المتأثرين بالحرب في السودان
اتحاد الجاليات السودانية بكندا يقف مع أهل الفاشر ومع كل الضحايا في كافة مناطق السودان، وسنواصل العمل مع شركائنا القانونيين والسياسيين لرفع صوتنا بالمطالب الإنسانية لأهلنا بالسودان ومتابعة ملفّات المحاسبة حتى تُحاكم كل الجهات المسؤولة.
