Dear Sudanese Canadian,
“The pandemic has been a real learning experience – there was so much fear of the unknown in the beginning. Maybe there still is. But the difference since those first few days and weeks is that we’ve discovered we’re not alone. While there still may be plenty of uncertainty ahead, no obstacle is too great as long as we face it together”– Danielle McIntyre, Executive Director of Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge (IFB)
I’m hearing from food bankers like Danielle across the country. And with every note, I think of your organization. As we navigate through these difficult times, your gift continues to serve Canadians who need a helping hand.
A few months ago when I asked Danielle what kept her up at night, she told me about the loss of volunteers, cancelled fundraisers and difficulty purchasing essential items because of COVID-19.
But we are making progress, thanks to your organization. With your help, Food Banks Canada was able to support the Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge with funding for healthy food, protective wear and operational support. You helped ease some of the strain so that they could keep the lights on and their doors open to people in their community. You’ve shown that we’re all in this together.
Know that your generosity extends beyond Lethbridge to food banks and communities across Canada. I’m extremely grateful for your support!
